A modest one-story house was substantially enlarged and transformed into a unified composition of volumes, plans, and trellises that respond to its suburban site. Cubic forms and high windows enhance privacy from the street. Large openings, trellises, and patios extend the house into rear garden and transform the typical suburban backyard into an expansive entertainment space.
